31 Days to Sell Your Home: Day 9 – Cabinets Don’t Need to Be New
🚪 Your Cabinets Are Under Inspection
Buyers are absolutely going to open your kitchen cabinets. So no, they don’t have to be custom walnut with soft-close hinges — but they do need to be clean and functional.
What Matters Most?
- No sticky handles
- No chipped or peeling paint
- No mystery crumbs or smells
- No signs of water damage or warped shelves
Small Changes, Big Impact
- Add new knobs or pulls
- Scrub (and we mean scrub) every interior and door
- Paint or refinish if they’re really worn
- Organize what’s inside — buyers look
Don’t Spend Thousands
Unless your cabinets are truly falling apart, save your renovation money. A cabinet refresh can give 80% of the impact at 10% of the cost.
👉 One Action to Take Today:
Open every cabinet and drawer. Would you want to put your dishes in there? If not, start scrubbing.
