Entertainment & The Arts
This area of Lehigh County is very rural and there are no major entertainment venues, though you might be able to catch a local band at a bar in the neighborhood.
Restaurants & Bars
Most of the restaurants and bars in this area are centralized in the small towns, though there is always someplace close by to grab a bite and the local water holes have their own charm. For a more varied or exotic choice of cuisine, one will have to travel closer to the Allentown area.
Parks & Outdoors
Opportunity for outdoor adventure abounds in this mainly rural area. A good portion of the forests here are state game lands and there are plenty of hiking trails and nature preserves. Bake Oven Knob offers a spectacular view from its' perch high on the Appalachian Trail.
Local Architecture
Turn of the century twins and row homes can be found mixed in with Victorians and Colonials in the boroughs. The wide open spaces of the townships are home to a variety of working farms, large estates, and modern housing developments.
Shopping & Markets
Though there are some local strip malls and most places have at least a grocery store nearby, there is no major shopping in this section of the valley. Travel to Allentown is necessary for major shopping.
Public Transportation
The Lehigh Valley International Airport provides direct flights to many Eastern US locations and connections to many, many more. It's convenient to travel anywhere from this local hub and it lies in Allentown just across the border with Bethlehem. There is bus service to the boroughs, but the townships do not have access to public transportation.
