Entertainment & The Arts
Pen Argyl and the surrounding area has small town charm and is still very rural, so there are no major arts or entertainment venues, but major venues in Bethlehem or even Allentown are not far from this quiet area.
Restaurants & Bars
The restaurants and bars are mostly found in town, but there are quite a few options. For a larger variety of cuisines, one can quickly get to Easton, Bethlehem or Allentown.
Parks & Outdoors
This area has plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities. There are many nice parks and neighborhood playgrounds, but there is also hiking, hunting, and fishing. The Appalachian Trail and a large tract of state game lands lie to the north and just beyond is the Delaware Water Gap.
Local Architecture
In town architecture is a mix of turn of the century twins and row homes and smaller single family Capes and Colonials. There are some newer housing developments and the surrounding townships have many working farms and large estates.
Shopping & Markets
Each town has small local shops with all of the necessities and Wind Gap has a more extensive commercial corridor near the Rt 33 interchange, but for a full day of shopping, one will still travel to one of the main cities in the Lehigh Valley.
Public Transportation
The Lehigh Valley International Airport provides direct flights to many Eastern US locations and connections to many, many more. It's convenient to travel anywhere from this local hub and it lies in Allentown just across the border with Bethlehem. There are public buses available in the boroughs, but no service in the remote township areas.
